I love olive garden! They have unlimited soups, salads, and breadsticks if you're not feeling upto a whole entree. They also have a great variety of entrees as well. Their food never fails to disappoint me, but I feel like their service is either a hit or miss most of the time. I've had good service and i've had really bad service there. Then again, you win some and you lose some, right?

It is what it is, an Olive Garden. As far as authentic or even palpable Italian food goes, it is the pits. Salad is iceburg lettuce drenched in Wishbone Italian. Iceburg lettuce??? Who didn't get the memo? Breadsticks are tastless and textureless dough bombs. But I knew what I was walking in to. So can I say it is a well executed Olive Garden but a piss poor restaurant? Maybe..but even on this metric this restaurant fails. My food was out before I could even attempt to choke down my salad. Food (ordered off their Tours of Italy menu) was just plain awful. Dry..probably sat under a heat lamp for 10 min before I received it. Coagulated Cheese . Gross. Olive Garden is like Taco Bell. You have N ingredients and can permute across M combinations Maybe I just picked the wrong N and M.

We were regulars and still would be if their food hadn't taken a downward spiral. I am disabled to we do pickup alot. A few months ago the amount of sauce on the steak gorgonzola Alfredo was almost non existant. We thought it might have been a fluke so my wife, son, and I ordered it twice more with the same result. We started ordering a small container of Alfredo sauce and sometimes we would get it other times not. The cooking of the steak has been all over the place. It is supposed to come medium but we have had it anywhere from rare to crispy critter. The last time we ordered I had had it. Not only was there no sauce but the steak pieces all 4 were smaller than a 50 cent piece and way over cooked. The portion size looked to be 1/3 of what we used to get. Coon Rapids Olive garden has now lost a loyal customer and I will make sure to spread how bad they have gotten.

I have only ever been to this location in a large group (8-12) and it has yet to disappoint. My most recent experience was for a birthday party and they gave us our own separate room for a semi-private experience. Even with a large group we have speedy service, always have full salad and plentiful breadsticks (mmmmmmmm), and never have to ask for refills on beverages. I find that there are so many choices and it takes me forever to read over the menu, but I always gravitate to the same 2-3 dishes. You just can't go wrong with seafood alfredo or chicken parmesan. The portions are so large you can easily share. My favorite end to the meal is always the Andies Mints, a fresh and sweet ending.

Always good food at Olive Garden. Got the build your own pasta. Can't go wrong with any of the choices. Very busy but it was a Friday night. Waiter was excellent! Very friendly and made sure we were taken care of.

Always dependable. Love the salad and breadsticks. Get alfredo for the bread, it is awesome. Chicken alfredo is my favorite with a glass of wine. Good time with my girlfriends.

My only complain is the lack of reservations. They obviously have no problem getting people in the door. At least allow for reservations for parties of 6 or more? This is my complaint after waiting over an hour for a group of 11 people. Common sense Olive Garden, reservations will not lighten your pockets.

I was whelmed. I wasn't overwhelmed and I wasn't underwhelmed. I like O.G., I don't love it but I like it and it was good. But I HAD to comment about... ...Their new promotion "Crap Today, Crap Tomorrow." There are 5 non-O.G. quality dishes on Crap Today, Crap Tomorrow and we got the 69 cheese spaghetti with meat sauce and they were not generous with the sauce and begged for salt (at this place?!) Then in English it would be "half moon 68 cheese ravioli w/meat sauce" and this was where the real crap shone through. Weird small amount of pink sauce, NO MEAT at all, not even a misting of sausage aroma. The oral funeral ended with underripe tomato bits and onion on top of the salmon-colored meatless sauce. Not good. So I can't wait to go back for a belt-busting yummy Tour of Italy.

I met a girlfriend here last week for dinner after work, and we had a very pleasant experience. I arrived before my friend, and the hostess took my name so she could show my friend to the table when she arrived. After I was seated, the server came by to greet me and offer a sample of one of their house wines. I had just been looking over the wine list, so I took her up on the offer. She asked to see my I.D. as she politely told me I looked young for my age. She poured me about a third of a glass to try and asked if my guest who wasn't there yet would likely want to sample it as well. I thought she might, so she filled her glass as well while confirming that she was of age as well. Once my friend arrived, we knew immediately what we wanted to order, and the server came by within moments to take our order. Of course, we opted for soup, salad and breadsticks :) so it wasn't difficult, but everything came promptly and our server remained very attentive throughout our visit w/o every being too annoying. After we were all finished, she told us we were welcome to stay and chat as long as we wanted and that she would check back with us later to see if we needed anything. We thought about migrating to a coffee shop, but ended up staying here because it did take her a while to get us the bill. That's really the only complaint I had. But all in all, the last 2 times I've visited this location (once for lunch), I've been very pleased with my experience.

When I go there, the food is always amazing, the service is great, and the portion of the food is good. But the food is a little pricy. But it's always good food.

I've never been to anyplace that makes their own pasta where it's as bad as at Olive Garden. I suggest you nuke a Lean Cuisine if you get a hankerin' for some bad pasta. There are so many better "Italian" options, or try the Thai place less than a mile south on University.

Always amazing tasting food. The chefs here are always amazing they never disappoint with taste, or presentation, even when you throw a curve ball at them and order something special that's not on the menu they still can deliver excellent quality. Two thumbs up, and five stars.

Stopped in for an early dinner. Seating was immediate as the restaurant was not very full. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. I am just not inspired by the menu choices at Olive Garden. A salad that is mostly iceberg lettuce is not something I am going to rave about. The entree courses all look the same to me and do not personally excite me. They prepare it well enough it is just not my thing. I think for the price you can find better. If you are looking for a restaurant that has chairs with casters so you can roll around this would be a good choice.

While I haven't been to an Olive Garden in awhile (not because the food isn't good...I mean HELLO salad and bread sticks!) but because I've gotten into trying less mainstream places, I'm not overall impressed with this one. The last two times I have gone there the staff sat me in the same table...the most in-the-way, uncozy spot right where two pathways cross. Advice - remove this table and set up a drink/silverware station for easy access to the tables. It's also kind of a crap shoot with the waiters. I've had a really friendly one and another one super off-putting. It's up to you, but next time I'll try a new Italian place with a little more charm and most likely get more for my money.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
